Help North Korean refugees learn English

An English education is paramount to success in South Korea and South Koreans spend 10 years of compulsory education studying the language. North Koreans do not study English and have no familiarity with it. This is huge barrier on the way to professional and academic success in South Korea. Teach North Korean Refugees (TNKR) helps match North Korean refugees with volunteer native English-speakers for private, personalized study sessions.

TNKR is a non-profit based out of Seoul and donations will go towards school supplies, travel costs and events for the refugees. The organizers and teachers are all volunteers and take no payment for the work we do. About half of our operating costs come from individual donations.
