About This Fundraiser
Hello and thank you for your interest in Running 4 Resttlement (R4R). Started in 2014 by Fulbrighters wanting to help North Korean defectors, R4R aims to raise funds to rescue defectors who face repatriation to North Korea where they risk torture, imprisonment, or execution. Refugees, many whom live in China and other third countries, are forced to live in hiding and can fall victim to labor and sex trafficking.
All funds raised for R4R will be donated to the NKHR Rescue Fund. Since its inception in 1996, the Citizen's Alliance for North Korean Human Rights (NKHR), has helped to rescue defectors and set up resettlement programs for them. The Rescue Fund was created by volunteers within NKHR to host fundraising events in an effort to rescue North Koreans.
This year on Sunday, July 12th in Seoul, R4R will once again be participating in the Kim Dae Jung Peace Marathon which helps to raise money and awareness for North Korean human rights.
To bring one defector safely to South Korea, it costs approximately 2,500 USD. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will help get us closer to our goal of rescuing 8 defectors. Thank you for your time and contributions
