About This Fundraiser
My name is Joe, an English teacher from California working in Seoul. In my free time, I volunteer with the NKHR Rescue Fund, helping them raise money for North Korean escapees hoping to leave China and enter South Korea. I have been a part of the team since March 2014, and it has been absolutely fulfilling helping those affected by the severe human rights issues in North Korea
One of my life passions is running, and I am in the middle of a personal physical challenge for 2016. I intend to run six 5 K's, six 10 K's, six half-marathons, and six full marathons throughout the year. This upcoming June, I hope to check one half-marathon off my list at The Kim Dae Jung Peace Marathon in June. I completed this race last year and managed to raise $640.00 through RfR and I hope to raise even more this time around.
Help me reach my goal of $750.00 (~750,000 won) by donating to my fundraising page. Any amount donated is greatly appreciated; the refugees of North Korea need every bit of help they can get.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Runners for R4R register to run in the Kim Dae-Jung Peace Marathon in Seoul on June 12, while committing to fundraise for Citizens' Alliance for North Korean Human Rights (NKHR) Rescue Fund. Our goal is to raise $20,000 total to help 8 North Koreans safely reach South Korea from China, where they face human rights abuses.
