Last year I tutored a North Korean re-settler for a while. One time we got pizza. I was complaining about the general state of Korean pizza (it's not great, believe me): he stopped with a slice of pizza halfway from his mouth, a strand of cheese dripping queasily down, made eye contact, held it awkwardly.

-- In North Korea, there is no pizza, is what he said.

-- Oh, get the fuck out, is what I wanted to say.

I'm running ten kilometres in a couple of weeks to earn money to help other wiseacres like that guy escape North Korea, and re-settle in the South. If you have ever made a 'so which Korea is it that you live in' joke please make amends for this by donating!
