Our Journey — and How God Brought Us Here
God first opened the door for Bill to come to Korea as a missionary back in 1982. Often Bill was supported locally in Korea by para-church ministries or Korean churches. Many years later, in 2015, God led Bill and Niki to relaunch as missionaries—raising support while Bill also served part-time as Lead Pastor of Sinchon Church International Community (SCIC) in Seoul.
Today, Bill and Niki are still living in Seoul, but their vision reaches far beyond one city. God is using them to build a CrossCulture Community throughout Asia—connecting with people from many nations, discipling believers, training pastors, supporting churches, and developing mission projects.
As they look toward serving full-time as missionaries, they are continuing to raise support. Your prayers and partnership make this ministry possible. Thank you to everyone who has walked with Bill and Niki in this journey of faith!
Bill’s Life Testimony
Bill Majors accepted Jesus Christ at eight years old, and during a junior high youth camp he sensed God’s call to become a missionary. In college, while studying missions, Bill met a Korean student who later invited him to serve short-term with Youth for Christ (YFC) in Korea.
After graduating early, Bill returned to his home church to be ordained and was sent out as a missionary to Korea—with a one-way ticket, $900, and a deep trust that God would provide.
His early years in Korea were full and stretching:
-
six months with YFC
-
one year of language school
-
four years volunteering in an orphanage
-
meeting and marrying Niki (Ja Kyung)
God then opened the door for Bill to work with the Christian Business Men’s Committee (CBMC) in Seoul and throughout Asia. During this time, Young Nak Church invited him to translate their Sunday services for English-speaking visitors. After five years, Young Nak’s senior pastor encouraged Bill to go to seminary.
With much prayer, Bill and Niki—now with two young daughters, Sarah and Anna—moved to Dallas, where Bill attended Dallas Theological Seminary (1993–1995) while serving as English pastor at Binnerri Korean Church (originally named Korean Presbyterian Church of Dallas-KPCD).
In 1994, Bill suffered a devastating fall from a 10-foot ladder, requiring brain surgery and nearly a year of rehabilitation. God graciously restored his life and gave him a renewed calling.
A Growing Ministry
In 1996, the Majors family returned to Seoul, where Bill felt called not only as a missionary but as a pastor. God opened a door for Bill to teach English at Hanyang University while volunteering at Young Nak Church. In April 1998, the International Worship in English (IWE) began—reaching English speakers from many nations. By 2002, IWE had grown to two services with around 300 weekly worshipers.
Bill served as a full-time pastor at Young Nak until 2012, then took a one-year chaplaincy residency at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston before returning to Korea again. During this time, he completed his Doctor of Ministrydegree from Talbot School of Theology (2015).
From 2017 to November 2025, Bill served as Lead Pastor of SCIC, preaching weekly to an international congregation representing 15–20 countries. Over more than 30 years focused on international people in Seoul, Bill has pastored, discipled, and sent out thousands of believers who are now living for Christ across the world.
A New Beginning — 2026 and Beyond
As Bill transitions from being Lead Pastor at SCIC, this new season marks a fresh beginning. With God’s help—and through the prayers and generosity of friends and partners—Bill and Niki hope to serve full-time as missionaries again in 2026, building the CrossCulture Community God has placed on their hearts.
