We are Shane and Nichole Kennard. We have been married 20 years this summer and have 4 boys Elijah, Josiah, Noah, and Isaiah.
We became familiar with 1U Project in 2017 and hosted a child that summer and again in the summer of 2019 in our home. Nichole also went to Ukraine with 1U in the Fall of 2017 and got to experience first hand Ukraine and its orphan system.
When we were dating, adoption had been something we had talked about the possibility of doing one day. Shane, having been adopted himself from birth, and Nichole feeling like God had laid adoption on her heart when she was a teenager.
In late 2020 and early 2021 we felt unsettled, as though God had something bigger for us in mind. We prayed and sought out different things that God might be leading us to do. Through a series of events we felt God leading us to move forward with the adoption process of a sibling set of 3 from Ukraine.
Our family is excited to set out on this “faith journey” God is leading us on to complete our family and to see him do “immeasurably more then all we ask or imagine” Ephesians 3:20. We appreciate your prayers and support as we move forward on this path.
