“God is Moving… and We are Too!”

When the Israelites looked up and saw the pillar of cloud in the day or pillar of fire at night begin to move, they knew it was time to gather everything and prepare for the journey ahead (Exodus 13:21-22). It was a sign that the Lord was going before them to prepare the way.

At this juncture in the life of our church, we announced several weeks ago that CityLight Seoul will be moving to a bigger facility starting in mid-August. The pillar has begun to move, and God is preparing the way! As our present venue has been packed out for a while, we simply have no more room to grow. In line with our vision to disciple, raise up, and equip many of the foreigners coming to Korea, the Lord has also given us a vision to reach the younger generation of Korean natives, especially those in the Sinchon-Hongdae region. We’re excited for this God-given opportunity and responsibility to reach this generation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Originally (as I shared in last month’s PRISM), we were going to undergo construction at our present location, but the cost and logistics of that were beyond our capacity. Located 300 meters away from our current place, our new building will have much more space, natural lighting with windows, 70 parking spaces, and potential to expand more rooms. It’s a really nicer and cleaner venue that will serve us well. I invite all our CLS members and friends to partner with us in making an impact on this generation. When King Solomon built the grand temple of the Lord, he prayed that through the temple, foreigners would come to pray, “in order that all the peoples of the earth may know Your name and fear You…” (1 Kings 1:41-43). May His Kingdom be expanded through our new venue!

The projected bare-minimum budget for the move, construction, and other costs has come out to KRW 55,900,000. We’re really excited for what the Lord will do in this new season, but need your help in sowing into this vision.
