엔세나다 멕시코의 극빈지역에 사는 12살 소녀 킴벌리 에스트라다는 왼쪽 눈 아래 살 속에 암일 가능성이 높은 종양이 자라고 있습니다. 만약 암이어서 그것이 눈으로 전이된다면 그녀의 시력이 영향을 받을 수도 있습니다. 현재도 이미 그 종양은 그녀의 코를 속에서 압박하여서 숨쉬는 것을 힘들게 하고 있습니다. 현재 그녀가 무료로 치료 받을 수 있는 국립병원에서 해 줄 수 있는 시술은 시설과 비용 면에서 제한되어 있어서, 그녀는 사립병원에서 (1) 코를 통해서 레이저로 종양을 제거하는 수술 및 (2) 그 종양이 악성종양인지 (즉 암인지) 확인하는 조직검사를 해야 합니다. (1) & (2) 합쳐서 총 미국 달러로 $2000이 듭니다.
그래서 제가 섬기는 미국 남가주에 있는 발렌시아 새누리교회(VNCC Valencia New Community Church)에서는 페이스북에서 아는 이들(혹은 누구든 이 일에 대한 하트가 있는 친절한 분들)과 함께 그 $2000을 모금하고자 합니다. 새누리 교회는 지난 7월에 엔세나다에 미니 선교를 갔을 때 킴벌리를 만나서 그 사정을 듣게 되었습니다.
킴벌리의 종양 제거를 위해서 함께 기도해주시거나 혹은 얼마 간이라도 모금에 동참해 주신다면 대단히 감사하겠습니다. 여러분께서 주시는 헌금은 새누리교회의 선교기금 계정으로 입금이 되어서, 그 전액이 킴벌리가 다니는 "새 개척교회"(Mision la Nueva)에 계시는 고창한 (Andrew Ko) 선교사님께 전달될 것입니다. 이 모금은 한시적인 것으로서 미국 서부시간으로 8/6(월)에 시작되어서 1주일 후인 8/13(월)에 마감될 예정입니다.
Kimberly Estrada, a 12-year old girl who lives in the extreme poverty area of Ensenada, Mexico, has a tumor inside her cheek and it maybe cancerous, which will spread to her eye and affect her vision. Currently the tumor is already pushing one side of her nose from the inside that her breathing is impeded. The procedures that can be done at the county hospital is limited, and she has to be operated at a private hospital to (1) do a laster surgery through her nose to get rid of the tumor and (2) do a biopsy on the tumor to find out if it is cancerous. Procedures (1) & (2) together costs US $2000.
We at VNCC (Valencia New Community Church) in Valencia, California in United States, would like to raise the $2000 together with our friends (or any kind soul) on Facebook. (We have met Kimberly during our mini-mission to Ensenada in July 2018.) So if you could kindly pray for Kimberly's recovery from the tumor and/or even make any amount of donation (even $5) for her operation, that would be very generous and blessed. You donation will be gathered at VNCC's Missions checking account and the entire amount will be delivered to Missionary Andrew Ko, who is at Kimberly's church Mision La Nueva in Ensenada. This fundraiser is time-limited and only runs from 8/6(Monday) till 8/13(Monday).
