My interest in human rights and development were first piqued while studying at university, however it wasn't until I began tutoring North Korean university students in English that I began to learn more about the resettlement process and the specific obstacles that refugees face after fleeing North Korea. Through the Kim Dae Jung Peace Marathon, I hope we can raise enough money to offer support to this unique community, both during and after the difficult resettlement process, and positively impact their lives in a meaningful way.
